2 Smoking Barrels was built on three things, good meat, good timber and hard work. After travelling through the States, we found a passion for authentic Texan style barbecue. Something that at the time was scarce in Australia. It’s hard labour, definitely not for the faint of heart – you really need to love it.
We always joke that Burnsbury Hospitality was built on pork rolls but to be honest – it was!
When we introduced barbecue to the Illawarra 8 years ago on our little Yoder Wichita, it was new, a point of difference that nobody knew a lot about. From markets in a marquee – selling 100 a week, to large scale events and a permanent home base in Wollongong – selling over 2000 a week.
2 Smoking barrels is a household name throughout the Illawarra region, we love that our barbecue is approachable and loved by such a diverse clientele. An increasingly popular spot for families and large groups with a price point to suit everyone.
Our food truck is also highly sought after, known for its consistency, product and fun approach to food, it’s the perfect option for any event.
